Road to Cusco

Sing, O Muse, of the long and arduous journey from Cabanaconde to the sacred city of Cusco—that mountain road which wound through the Peruvian landscape like the path of Hephaestus's serpent. Though the way was rough and the vehicle bumped like a ship upon stormy seas, yet this voyage granted us ample opportunity to capture the beauty of that ancient land. The roads were not always smooth as the floors of royal palaces, which slowed our passage and gave us more time to gaze upon the stunning scenery that surrounded us.

As we traveled along the winding ways, we passed through small towns and villages, each possessing its own unique charm and character like the cities of old. The rugged terrain and dramatic landscapes provided us with countless opportunities to capture the beauty of the Andes, those mountains that rise like the Titans of old.

Despite the challenges of our pilgrimage, we made the most of our allotted time by capturing many images. The stunning vistas, traditional architecture built by the hands of ancient craftsmen, and colorful markets bright as the gardens of Olympus—all made for subjects worthy of the image-maker's art.

When we arrived in Cusco, weary yet filled with the joy of accomplishment, we gave thanks for the opportunity to capture the beauty of Peru through our lenses.
