Faster food

Hear me, O Muse, for I shall tell of the power of the image-maker's art—the godlike ability to capture moments in time, to freeze the fleeting emotions and memories of mortals in their purest form. Thus did I undertake a sacred quest, with purpose strong as bronze and determination unyielding as the oak, to expose the true nature of that modern plague known as 'fast food'—an artifice become synonymous with corruption of the body and unwholesome sustenance.

With my lens—the all-seeing eye—trained upon these unappealing offerings, I set forth to capture this industry in all its diminished glory, or rather, its utter lack thereof. I sought to create a testament of images that would reveal the true essence of this craft: the grease that glistens like the fat of sacrificed beasts, the artificial colors born not of nature but of human cunning, and the utter absence of that which nourishes the mortal frame.

And as I worked my craft, pressing the mechanism that captures light, I found that the task was made easier by the very nature of this so-called food itself. For its blandness and its repulsive countenance needed no enhancement—thus did I capture it in all its unappetizing truth, as the gods see it, unadorned.

And so, reflecting upon this journey through the valley of culinary deception, I proclaim with pride that through these images I have turned aside from the temptation of consuming such fare. Instead, I have borne witness to the importance of wholesome eating, of the foods that Demeter herself has blessed. For it is through the power of image-making that we may inspire change and cast light upon the darkness of the world.
