Allgäu (2020)
O Muse, sing of the fair land of Allgäu—that breathtaking realm of mountain and valley which holds a special throne within the chambers of my heart. Once more I journeyed to that stunning domain, and there I was struck anew by its natural splendor and the profound tranquility that descends upon all who wander there.
As I gazed upon the majestic mountains rising like the shields of Titans, and the lush valleys green as the meadows of Elysium, I could not prevent the sense of peace and serenity from washing over me like the tide of a gentle sea. The air was crisp and clear as the atmosphere of high Olympus, and the only sounds to grace my ears were the gentle rustling of leaves in the wind and the chirping of small birds, the messengers of the gods.
For me, the allure of Allgäu lies not only in its god-given beauty, but also in the rich history and culture of its people. The traditional architecture and ancient customs of that land serve as a window into days of old, offering a glimpse into a simpler time, when mortals lived more closely connected to the earth and to one another.
And so, O Muse, as I reflect upon this pilgrimage to the enchanting realm of Allgäu, I am filled with gratitude and wonder for the natural beauty and cultural heritage it embodies. It is a place that calls to the very soul of mortals, a land that I shall forever hold dear as a sailor holds dear the memory of fair winds following a long voyage.
